LLOYD BANKS - THE BIG WITHDRAW (ADVANCE), ALBUM REVIEW AND DOWNLOAD
What kind of title is that? I don't usually do downloads for albums, but since this is an advance and probably won't be the version that appears in stores in January, I'll make an exception. Somebody got a copy of Lloyd Banks new album, probably Big Mike or some Big Mike affiliated person, and leaked it to the internet. Only two features, so I'm pretty sure he didn't get a chance to clear up all the features by the time this shit was leaked. There is even a diss track on here, which I think is a first for Lloyd. Anyway, lets jump right into this shit:
THE WAIT IS OVER (INTRO)
Lloyd is using samples on his album this time around. Sounds pretty good.
WHIP PUSSY
Not as x-rated as the title would have you think. I would've finished this review faster if not for this song, cause I put it on repeat. This shit is hot. Another sample, but this time chopped up. Basically talking about niggas who wife and trick sluts, without overdoing the metaphores. Gutter, my favorite track on the CD.
THIS IS MY HOOD
I heard this one before on a few mixtapes. This sounds a bit more like a track that would be on Hunger For More. Also sounds like something Em produced, in which case I hate it.
A LIL BIT COLDER
I like this beat too. Lloyd and Bucks album were noticably not as well produced as 50's shit, but this CD seems to take a step up. I like all the tropical sounding shit going on in the background. Another hot track.
ITS SIMPLE AINT IT
50 Cent on this one. The way Lloyd starts off on the hook, is the exact reason why people have a problem with his voice. Shit sounds creepy. Beat not too bad. 50 Cent singing not up to his usual standards. But its still not a bad track though. Dark sounding.
EVERYWHERE YOU GO
More samples. I'm liking this one too. Track is hot. Speaking to the ladies, a wining and dining type of thing. Nice.
IT AINT A SECRET
Most times when Lloyd Banks sings, I'm not feeling it. This is a diss to D-Block, Fat Joe, and Game. Not as good as the others, but still not bad. He calls D-Block "DVD G's". Lol.
6 FIGGA NIGGA
Not really feelin this one. Talking about how good is life is, and how he's a six figure nigga. I thought everybody with G-Unit were worth at least seven figures. So if Lloyd is a six figure nigga going double platinum with his solo, and double platinum with the G-Unit record, I don't even wanna think about the figures that the Lox are working with.
GETTIN MONEY
Not really feelin' this track either. More bragging. No chorus.
TURN YOU INTO A CUSTOMER
I like the piano loop on here. Sounds like something Scott Storch would do. Subject on the track is obvious. Ugh, whoever stole this album, must have stole it before Lloyd got a chance to get this mastered.
VICTIM OF SOCIETY
Biggie starting this one off with some talking. I little flute play in the background. Talking about life in the hood. OK track.
IN THE GROUND WIT YA NIGGAZ
Lol at the sample singing, "ground wit ya niggaz," through the entire song. This is ok too. Control yourself, or Lloyd will put you in the ground wit ya niggaz.
NOBODY BELIEVES ME
Lloyd Banks sings ok on this one. The track is pretty cool, a bit more laid back.
YOU'S A HOE
Letting you know that if you do any of the things he's saying, you're a ho. Male or Female. At first I thought this was just a chorus, but maybe it was an incomplete verse. It ok though.
IF YOU AINT HOLDIN
I heard this so long ago. More singing. Not liking it. Sounds very Hunger For More'ish.
THIS IS MY HOOD
Keeps up with the dark tone of the album. One of the not good, but not horrible either tracks. Rest in peace Ja and Star?
ITS OK
Lloyd doesn't need any friends, its ok. Another iight track.
ANOTHA DOLLA
I'm liking the production on this one. Sounds like there should be a sample, but its hot though. More talking about himself, but its ok though, its till hot. I think theres a subliminal at the Game in here. Nice track.
WITHOUT MY GLOCK
Lloyd doesn't leave the block, without his glock.
GET LOW
I'm guessing this is the mainstream single. I'm the guitar strums on the beat are actually bearable. Talking about various females with asses that look so good, that he has to have them. I don't see this being very pop though.
WHY WE WAITIN
Another pop sounding track. More guitar play. I like this one a bit better than the last track. Pretty smooth, you can be smooth with this one.
WHEN I WAS DOWN
More guitar, with a bit of piano. Not as good as the previous two, but its not bad either.
GET THE FUCK UP NOW
Clapping on this track, sounds like something for the clubs.
COMMENTS: I like the overall sound of this album compared to Hunger For More. The overall tone is different, and and bit more street, but not like street bangers, more just like riding, at night, creep type shit. Lyrics still good, and I've always said that more lyrical rappers sound good on sample beats, which were missing from Lloyd's first offering. Not alot of guests, and I think this helps the overall flow of the album. I really don't care what kind of sales an album will rake in, or how much crossover appeal, but as far as good rap tracks, this shit is hot. Good shit.

This was an over-all good albumn, i am happy to see the production has improved (lots of samples). The lyrics are good as usual, i am happy with this latest installment... The title 'The Big Withdraw' is an attempted play on his name 'Banks', the meaning, a little too hidden.
